We encourage students to develop their God-given talents to their fullest potential and seek to integrate Biblical values with creative passions. Art is God's idea; creation is God's own artwork! His Word speaks of His creativity and His attention to beauty and design. God gave us the ability to produce art and also appreciate beauty.
Students are engaged in weekly art classes; every child has a piece displayed in the school's annual art exhibit and a variety of student artwork is displayed in local and state art festivals. Artwork is also loaded to Artsonia, a site where parents may capture student artwork on various products. Proceeds from Artsonia support the HCS art program.
s an integral part in Heritage Christian School's philosophy of general education. It is this part that truly focuses on maturing the spirit of a person, for it is through creative expression that he communicates his innermost feelings to God and man. The Christian student learns that creative expression should be made, or acted out, to the glory of God and for the purpose of worshipping Him.
Students beginning in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade participate in general music/choir twice a week. Middle school students participate in general music 3 times per week. This class is offered twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Various ensembles may be offered as time and interest dictate. Participation in scheduled school concerts is required.
Throughout the year, students perform at various churches in the area in an effort to minister locally and gain support for our school. This is not required, but is a valuable experience for our students.
